Polk County posted its best team score of the season in conference play, grabbing fifth place in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match at Hendersonville Country Club.

The Wolverines finished with a team score of 340. Hendersonville won the match with a score of 308, topping the 311 of East Rutherford and the 322 of Brevard. R-S Central had a 330, with Chase (354) and Patton (419) trailing Polk.

Senior Avery Harden led Polk County with a 71, finishing in third place for the day behind Hendersonville’s Hunter Toney, who led the field with a 69, and Chase’s Brock Reid, who had a 70.

Myles Menetre carded a 77, with Tourin Jackson posting a 90 and Piercen Edwards adding a 102. Addie Buss finished with a 118 to round out Wolverine players in action.

Polk County is set to face Landrum in a dual match on Thursday at Tryon Country Club.
