Polk County’s boys golf team finished fifth Tuesday in a Western Highlands Conference match at Black Mountain Golf Club.

The Wolverines posted a team total of 415, easily finishing ahead of Mountain Heritage and Madison. Owen won the event, which featured all seven WHC teams, with a score of 329, seven shots ahead of Avery.

Wolverine sophomore Dillion Overholt continued his improving play of late, firing an 88 to finish as the team’s low scorer.

Owen’s Garrett Miller and Avery’s Greyson Stafford posted scores of 79 to share medalist honors.
