Wind, greens plague Wolverine golfers at Links O’Tryon

Polk County’s young boys golf team struggled Monday with windy conditions and the greeens of Links O’Tryon in a tri-match with Landrum and Woodruff, S.C.

The Wolverines finished the match with a team score of 221, trailing Woodruff’s 184 and Landrum’s 193. Woodruff’s Daniel Brasington fired a 38 in the nine-hole match to take medalist honors.

Josh Chupp had a 47, his best round of the year, to lead Polk County.

The Wolverines are scheduled to return to the links on Thursday on their home course at Tryon Country Club.
