Wilkins fires 74 to pace Wolverines at Forest City Municipal

Brody Wilkins shot a 2-over-par 74 that included an eagle to lead Polk County to a fifth-place finish at Tuesday’s non-conference golf match at Forest City Municipal Golf Course.

Wilkins eagled the par-5, 470-yard fourth hole and tied for third place overall in the field.

Tourin Jackson shot 78, Piercen Edwards posted an 86, Tallis Metcalf finished with a 98 and Gage Harden shot 99 for the Wolverines, who posted a team score of 336.

Chesnee won the team title with a 308, followed by Mountain View Prep (315), East Rutherford (318), R-S Central (330), Polk County, Chase (340), Hendersonville (340) and East Rutherford 2 (359).

Chesnee’s Caleb Green was medalist with a 5-under-par 67 on the par-72 course. R-S Central’s Noah Wright shot 71 for second place, and Wilkins tied with East Rutherford’s Aden Spratt and Chase’s Canaan Houser for third at 74.

Polk County returns to action Monday at Mountain Glen for the final regular-season match of the season.
