Wilkins’ 75 leads Polk to fourth at Grassy Creek

Brody Wilkins shot a 75 to lead Polk County to a fourth-place finish at Thursday’s Western Highlands Conference golf match at Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club in Spruce Pine.

Mitchell won the team title with a score of 307, followed by Madison (316), Hendersonville (325), Polk County (328), Avery (332), Mountain Heritage (368) and Owen (375).

Owen’s Carson Murphy and Mitchell’s Eli Snyder shared medalist honors with matching rounds of 70. Madison’s Gavin Gault and Abram Allison each shot 71, while Avery’s Hank Johnson carded a 74.

Piercen Edwards shot 79 for Polk County, followed by Tourin Jackson (81), Gage Harden (93) and Tallis Metcalf (100).

Polk County returns to action Wednesday at Bald Mountain Golf Course.
