Polk golfers enjoy best day of season against ACA

Polk County’s boys golf team continued its steady improvement on Thursday, three players breaking 50 for the first time in the same match this season in a loss to Asheville Christian Academy.

ACA won the dual match at Buncombe County Municipal Golf Course, 157-194. But that total represented an improvement of 20 strokes from the team’s first match against ACA, and the Wolverines posted those scores on a course none had previously played.

Dillion Overholt (46), Gabe O’Brien (48) and Josh Chupp (48) each broke 50 for the Wolverines, who return to the course on Monday, traveling to Links O’Tryon.
