Polk County golfers take third in conference match

Led by Will Ballard, Polk County placed third in Tuesday’s Western Highlands Conference golf match at Mountain Glen.

Ballard fired a 79 as the Wolverines posted a team total of 367. Avery County, on its home course, placed first with a total of 299, followed by Mitchell at 347.

RJ Weathers added a 94 for the Wolverines, who now have a 17-11 record this season.
