Polk County's Tourin Jackson finished third among the Wolverines at Monday's match

Polk County senior Avery Harden claimed medalist honors Monday during a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference golf match at Cleghorn Golf and Country Club.

Harden carded a 74 to best Chase’s Brock Reid by two strokes. Hendersonville’s Hunter Toney had a 78 to finish in third while three golfers – Chase’s Garrett Pinkerton, East Rutherford’s Jacob Holland and Hendersonville’s Rutledge Pace – shared fourth with a 79.

Polk County placed sixth in the team standings, posting a total of 376. Myles Menetre followed Harden with a 90, with Tourin Jackson posting a 99, Piercen Edwards notching a 113 and Tanner Osborn finishing at 118.

Hendersonville edged East Rutherford by a stroke to win the team race, the Bearcats posting a 325 to the Cavaliers’ 326. Brevard had a 348, with R-S Central at 351 and Chase at 373. Patton finished seventh at 434.

The Wolverines are next slated to be in action on March 19, again competing against conference schools at Mimosa Hills Golf Club.
