Area golfers compete, help raise funds for PCHS golf, girls basketball teams

Polk County High School’s boys golf squad, joined this year by its girls basketball team, held its 9th annual fundraiser golf tournament on Saturday at Tryon Country Club.

Teams played an 18-hole captains choice. Winners were:

1) John Albree, Jim Shirley, Jerry Perry and Gordy High, 56 (won card playoff)
2) Jeremy Yoder, Jeff Scanlin, Jim Hemphill and Fred Edwards Jr., 56
