Polk junior varsity tops Landrum for first win of season

Brandon Ridings tossed a six-hitter Wednesday to lead Polk County’s junior varsity to its first win of the season, a 7-2 win over Landrum at Polk.

Ridings allowed only two unearned runs in the first inning as Polk County improved to 1-3.

Clark Phipps finished 2-for-2 with two RBI, Evan Rimer was 2-for-3 with a double and Dillon Knighton was 1-for-2 with a double and scored twice for the Wolverines.

Polk County’s jayvees return to action on Friday at Madison.
