Polk County senior J.D. Edwards and freshman Sedric Pickett have been named to the 2016 all-Western Highlands Conference baseball team.
Edwards, who plans to play next season at Brevard College, finished as one of Polk’s top hitters while playing a number of positions for the Wolverines.
Pickett took over as Polk’s starting catcher early in the season and also finished as one of the team’s top hitters.

Mitchell’s Justin Greene was named the conference’s top player. Mountain Heritage head coach Rick Flynn, who led the Cougars to the regular-season championship, earned coach of the year honors.
