Patriots rally late to top Polk County in WHC matchup

Madison exploded for four runs in the bottom of the sixth Friday to rally for a 5-2 win over Polk County in Western Highlands Conference baseball action in Marshall.

Trailing 2-1 entering the sixth, the Patriots (6-10, 3-5) surged ahead and went on to record the win and avenge a loss to the Wolverines (6-8, 4-4) earlier this season.

Bryce Martin had two hits and Mark Mazzilli and Holden Owens added hits for Polk County, which scored all of its runs in the third inning.

Polk County is back on the road Tuesday, traveling to Avery for another WHC game.
