Polk County’s junior varsity and varsity baseball squads recently celebrated the 2015 season with their annual season-ending banquet at which a number of players were recognized.
The following junior varsity honors were awarded:
Most Improved: Jared Wolfe, Chris Phipps
Most Outstanding Pitcher: Tyler Harris

The following varsity honors were awarded:
Teamate of the Year: Noah Howell
Team Award: Tyler Campbell
Batting Title: Mark Mazzilli, .403
Best Competition Record: Bryce Martin
Gold Glove: Daniel Painter, Morgan Groves, Holden Owens, Mark Mazzilli, Konner Scruggs
Coaches Award: Dequan Gary, Morgan Groves
Most Valuable: Bryce Martin, Mark Mazzilli, Konner Scruggs
Team Captains: Morgan Groves, Mark Mazzilli, Bryce Martin
All-Confernece: Mark Mazzilli, Konner Scruggs, Tyler Campbell
The program also recognized players who finished in the top five in school history in certain categories:
Bryce Martin, 3rd, career hits, 93. Martin also tied for fourth in stolen bases with 30 and tied for third in runs scored with 80. That also earned Martin spots in the 50-Hit Club, 50-Runs Scored Club and 30-Stolen Base Club.
Mark Mazzilli, 50-Hit Club (62), .400 Batting Average Club (.403)
