Bearcats blank Wolverines to clinch WHC baseball title

Hendersonville clinched the Western Highlands Conference baseball championship on Tuesday, scoring two runs in each of the first five innings en route to a 10-o win over visiting Polk County.

The Wolverines (8-12, 5-7) got two hits from Mark Mazzilli, but were unable to score against Bearcat starter Noah Linhart, who scattered four hits and struck out eight in the win.

Hendersonville improved to 17-2 overall, 10-2 with the win. The Bearcats have now won their last six meetings with the Wolverines.
