Polk County’s Chan Barber fired a no-hitter Tuesday to lead the Wolverine junior varsity to a 14-1 win over Madison at The Bottoms.

Barber struck out five and walked two, the one Madison run unearned, as the Wolverines improved to 6-2. Polk County closes its JV season on Friday at Madison.

The Wolverines took a 2-0 lead after three innings, then scored six runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Barber finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, with Bryson Edwards going 1-for-2 with two RBI. Shane Parris, Jackson Beiler and Michael Simoncic were each 1-for-3 with an RBI, with Beiler and Simoncic each hitting triples.

Brad Marcello also had a hit as Polk County took advantage of eight Madison errors.
