Wolverines return to court with setback at Asheville Christian

Asheville Christian Academy handed Polk County a 3-0 loss Wednesday in Asheville as the Wolverines returned to the court for the first time since Aug. 24.

The Lions (9-2) took a 25-15, 26-24, 25-21 win over a Wolverine squad missing a handful of key players due to COVID-19 protocols.

Mia Bradley had five kills and six digs for Polk County (2-4), with Sophia Overholt posting four kills and 12 digs. Caroline Taylor added four kills and seven digs.

Morgan Yoder had three kills, five digs and six blocks while Zaelea Eller had 11 digs and nine assists.

Amberlyn Scruggs added eight assists and four digs for Polk County, which is slated to be back in action on Monday, hosting West Henderson in a non-conference match.
