Wolverines handed non-conference setback at Enka

Polk County battled but dropped a 3-1 decision Monday to Enka in a non-conference volleyball match in Candler.

The Jets (2-1) claimed a 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16 victory, dropping the Wolverines to 1-3 for the season.

Ada Kelley finished with nine kills and 10 digs while Morgan Yoder had seven kills and 10 blocks. Sophia Overholt added six kills and four digs.

Amberlyn Scruggs had 11 assists and eight digs while Mia Bradley and Elysia Smith each had eight assists.

Ella Waldman had 10 digs for the Wolverines, who return home Tuesday to host Tuscola in another non-conference match. Junior varsity play begins at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow. Tickets are available on GoFan and the match will be streamed live via the NFHS Network.
