Polk County bounced back from an opening-set loss Tuesday to earn its first Western Highlands Conference victory of the season, taking a 3-1 win at Mitchell.
The Mountaineers (5-3, 0-2) edged Polk in a tight opening set, but the Wolverines answered quickly, pulling away for a 25-17 win in the second to even the match.
Polk kept control from there, taking the third set 25-20 before finishing the match with a 25-21 victory in the fourth.
Beija Olivari led a productive Polk attack with 18 kills and added 13 digs. Claire Lawrence finished with 11 kills and 22 digs, while Kenzie Alm added 10 kills.
Abby Lewis directed the offense with 25 assists and added six digs. Lorali Wing had 13 assists and 16 digs, while Reeve Carroll recorded 21 digs.
Polk County improved to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in Western Highlands Conference play. The Wolverines travel to West Henderson on Wednesday.
