Polk County’s junior varsity made its home debut a successful one, sweeping Madison on Friday in Western Highlands Conference volleyball action.
The Wolverines claimed a 25-11, 25-16 victory, improving to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in WHC contests.
After an easy win in the first set, Polk County trailed 7-1 early in the second set. But Caroline Taylor’s serving led a Wolverine run that resulted in Polk quickly overcoming that deficit and steadily pulling away to take the win.
Elysia Smith had four kills and four asssists for Polk, with Cameron Ward and Anna Jackson each posting three kills. Zaelea Eller had six assists, four digs and three aces, with Lisa Jones also adding four digs.
Polk County is back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Mitchell for another WHC matchup.
