Polk County’s Marissa Twitty

Twitty named WHC Player of the Year; Hill again Coach of the Year

Polk County senior Marissa Twitty has been named the Western Highlands Conference Volleyball Player of the Year, with head coach Molly Hill named the league’s top coach.

Twitty was chosen by league coaches as the WHC’s top player. She finished the shortened season with 91 kills, 42 blocks and 19 aces while helping lead the Wolverine offense from her middle hitter position.

Twitty finished her Polk County career with 199 kills and 145 total blocks.

Hill led Polk County to a seventh straight WHC regular-season championship and a 10-0 record. It is the sixth time that she has been named the WHC Coach of the Year. Her career record is now 131-39.

Six other Polk County players were named to the league’s all-conference squad. Those players included seniors Kristen Hall, Emmie McDowell, Marilyn Castillo and Rollins Carter, sophomore Adair Edwards and freshman Ada Kelley.
