Polk County's Chloe Young had two hits and three RBI in Tuesday's win

Polk County freshman Sarah Vitale struck out 12 North Henderson hitters Tuesday to lead the Wolverines to a 12-4 victory in their season opener in Hendersonville.

Vitale had plenty of offensive support as Polk County (1-0) grabbed the non-conference victory.

Kayleigh Wilson finished 2-for-4 with four RBI, with Elizabeth Vitale going 1-2 with a homer and three RBI. Vitale also drew two walks.

Chloe Young added two hits and three RBI for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines return to action on Friday, traveling to East Henderson for another non-conference matchup.
