Vitale, Bradley land spots on all-state squad

Polk County’s Mia Bradley and Sarah Vitale have been named to the North Carolina Softball Coaches Association 2A All-State squad.

Bradley, a freshman, hit .391 and played shortstop for the Wolverines while Vitale, also a freshman, hit .397 and finished 7-6 as a pitcher, striking out 84 batters in 71 innings.

The 2A squad included 97 players from all corners of the state.

Providence Grover’s Makayla McClain was named the 2A West Player of the Year while teammate Emma Mazzarone was named the 2A West Pitcher of the Year.
