Softball roundup: Polk Middle earns first win, Polk County falls to Madison

Polk County Middle erupted for 13 runs Monday to down Flat Rock Middle, 13-2, in a Blue Ridge Conference matchup at Polk County Recreation Complex.

The Wolverines improved to 1-2 with the victory.

Polk Middle is back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Brevard Middle for a 4:30 p.m. game.

MADISON TOPS POLK COUNTY: Madison scored in every inning Monday to spoil Polk County’s home opener and hand the Wolverines a 10-0 defeat in a Western Highlands Conference game.

The Patriots finished with 10 hits and took advantage of 10 Polk County walks in the Wolverines’ conference opener. Polk dropped to 1-2, 0-1 with the loss.

Sadie Worley held Polk to two hits in picking up the win for Madison.

Polk County is slated to be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Owen for another WHC game.
