Polk County's Kinley Waters

R-S Central took advantage of five Polk County errors Friday in handing the Wolverines a 4-1 defeat in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference softbal action in Rutherfordton.

The Hilltoppers remain atop the MF7 and improved to 7-4 overall, 4-1 in conference play. The Wolverines dropped to 5-6, 1-5.

R-S Central built a 3-0 lead after four innings. Polk scored a run in the fifth, but the Hilltoppers matched that in the bottom of the inning to keep Polk at bay.

Polk County is slated to host East Rutherford on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
