1 min read

R-S Central’s Logan Harris again stumped Polk County’s offense, leading the Hilltoppers to a 10-0 win Thursday in Rutherfordton.

After holding Polk County (7-8, 3-5) to four hits on Tuesday, Harris allowed just three hits Thursday and struck out eight in the five-inning win.

R-S Central (11-7, 8-2) scored once in each of the first four innings before exploding for six runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

Polk’s best scoring opportunity came in the second inning, when Sarah Vitale and Katelynn Arrowood singled for two of Polk’s three hits. The Wolverines eventually had runners on second and third with two outs, but Harris recorded a strikeout to escape the inning.

Wilson’s single in the fourth would be Polk’s only other baserunner.

Polk County will be back in action on April 25 at Landrum.
