East Rutherford again blanks Polk County

East Rutherford again checked Polk County’s offense, shutting out the Wolverines for the second time in four days with a 9-0 victory Friday in Bostic.

The Cavaliers (18-3, 11-1) clinched the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference regular-season softball title with the victory.

Polk County (8-10, 3-7) got a pair of hits from Mia Bradley and Katelynn Arrowood, with Laney Littlefield also adding a base hit.

The Wolverines will step out of conference play on Monday, hosting Landrum at 4:30 p.m. to begin the final week of regular-season play.
