Apple Valley exploded for 11 runs in the first inning Thursday en route to a 15-0 victory over Polk County Middle in Blue Ridge Conference softball play in Hendersonville.

The Knights spoiled the season debut for the Wolverines with the huge first inning. Apple Valley also held Polk Middle hitless in the three-inning game.

“We are going to keep growing with our young team,” said PCMS head coach Jamie Graber.

The Wolverines are slated to make their home debut on Monday, facing Brevard Middle in a 4:30 p.m. game at Polk County Recreation Complex.
