Kenzie Alm homered and drove in six runs to lead Polk Middle to an 18-8 victory over Flat Rock Middle in Wednesday’s Blue Ridge Conference softball game in Flat Rock.
The victory was the final regular-season game for the Wolverines, who will host a first-round game in the Blue Ridge Conference Tournament on Wednesday.
Alm went 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple, four runs and six RBI. Kayla Hayford finished 3-for-4 with five runs, an RBI and a double, and Kaydence Cole went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles.

Maddie Jolley added two hits including a double with three runs and an RBI, and Aubrey Champion went 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs. Kali Masters drove in two runs, going 1-for-5.
Polk Middle jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning when Alm launched a two-run home run that scored Hayford. Jolley later scored on an RBI single by Champion.
The Wolverines (9-3) extended the lead to 7-0 with four runs in the second inning. Cole and Jolley had RBI singles and Masters added a two-run double.
Flat Rock (4-8) rallied to cut the deficit to 10-8 after four innings, but Polk Middle scored once in the fifth and pulled away with seven runs in the sixth inning. Alm delivered a three-run triple and Champion added an RBI double to spark the rally.
Payton Emory earned the pitching victory, throwing five innings and allowing eight hits with four strikeouts. Champion pitched the sixth inning with two strikeouts.
