Polk County Youth Football’s 7-8 team remained unbeaten Saturday, while the 5-6 and 11-12 squads battled in losses during a three-game visit to T.C. Roberson in Skyland.

Polk County controlled possession for much of the game, but a second-quarter turnover proved costly in an 8-0 loss to T.C. Roberson.
Polk took the opening possession and kept the ball until 5:50 remained in the second quarter. Kyler Kerr broke runs of 30 and nine yards during the drive, with Allister Dominguez, Sawyer Cochran and Easton Blackwell also contributing carries.
The drive ended with a fumble, and T.C. Roberson scored on its next play before adding the conversion for the game’s only points.
Polk again controlled the ball until halftime, then got the ball back early in the third quarter when Myles Gary recovered a T.C. Roberson fumble. The Wolverines eventually turned the ball over on downs, but Andrew Haynie recovered another T.C. Roberson fumble on the next play.
Polk’s defense kept the game within reach throughout. Kerr recorded an eight-yard tackle for loss late in the game as part of a strong team defensive effort, and the Wolverines regained possession on downs in the final seconds before time expired.
T.C. Roberson ran just seven offensive plays in the game.
The Rams improved to 3-0, while Polk County fell to 1-2.

Zeke Wilson rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns as Polk County improved to 3-0 with a 28-14 victory.
T.C. Roberson grabbed a 6-0 first-quarter lead, but Polk responded with 20 unanswered points in the second period.
Wilson scored on an 18-yard run after opening the drive with a 30-yard kickoff return. Asa Wilson added a 30-yard run during the possession.
Colton Montgomery then recovered an onside kick, and Zeke Wilson followed with a 43-yard touchdown run.
De’Karie Sinclair created Polk’s next opportunity, forcing and recovering a fumble. Three plays later, Zeke Wilson raced 70 yards for his third touchdown of the quarter.
Sinclair added a touchdown of his own in the fourth period, forcing another fumble and recovering the ball in the end zone.
Asa Wilson rushed for 43 yards, with Isaiah Snoddy adding 30.
Defensively, Axel Kempster and Reece Fancher each had three tackles, while Asa Wilson and Zeke Wilson recorded two apiece.
T.C. Roberson fell to 0-3.
T.C. Roberson 11-12 28, Polk County 11-12 14
Polk County produced a pair of big-play touchdowns but couldn’t overcome T.C. Roberson in a 28-14 loss.
Ike Fancher put Polk on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a 57-yard touchdown run. Theo Overholt then found Levi Kerr for the two-point conversion, with Kerr making a leaping catch.
T.C. Roberson led 12-8 at halftime and extended the margin to 20-8 in the third quarter.
Polk struck again in the fourth when Overholt connected with Kerr for a 60-yard touchdown pass.
Fancher finished with 76 rushing yards, while Kerr had three receptions.
Overholt and Fancher each recorded five tackles on defense. Samson Shropshire had four tackles and forced a fumble, while Sawyer Money added three tackles and a forced fumble.
T.C. Roberson improved to 2-1, with Polk County moving to 1-2.
