Polk County Youth Football’s 7-8 and 11-12 teams combined for 58 points and a pair of shutouts Saturday in wins over Brevard at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
Polk 7-8 28, Brevard 7-8 0
Big plays fueled Polk County’s offense, with four different players reaching the end zone in the 28-0 victory.
Zeke Wilson opened the scoring with a 57-yard run off tackle, giving Polk a 6-0 first-quarter lead. Asa Wilson then broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown in the second period, with quarterback Axel Kempster adding the two-point conversion.

Carter Montgomery’s interception helped set up Polk’s next score, a 20-yard touchdown pass from Kempster to Wyatt Cox. Asa Wilson ran for the two-point conversion to give Polk a 22-0 halftime advantage.
The score remained there until the final play of the game, when Kyro Miller raced 40 yards for a touchdown.
Polk’s defense kept Brevard off the scoreboard throughout the afternoon. Asa Wilson had four tackles, with Miller and Zeke Wilson each recording three and Zion Coblentz adding two. Ryan Fry added a fumble recovery, with Coblentz and De’Karie Sinclair each adding two sacks.
The Wolverines improved to 2-0 with the victory.
Polk 11-12 30, Brevard 11-12 0
Ike Fancher scored three touchdowns and joined Evan Taylor in rushing for more than 100 yards as Polk County rolled to a 30-0 victory.
Taylor struck first with a 48-yard touchdown run, with quarterback Theo Overholt running for the two-point conversion. Fancher followed with a 50-yard scoring run, and Taylor took an option pitch to the right for the conversion and a 16-0 first-quarter lead.
Polk (1-1) added to the margin in the third quarter on perhaps the game’s biggest play. Facing fourth-and-24, Fancher took a reverse 28 yards for a touchdown, with Zy’Mir Archie adding the two-point conversion.
Fancher capped his three-touchdown day with a 30-yard scoring run on the final play of the game.
Polk’s defense completed the shutout behind six tackles and a pass breakup from Sampson Shropshire. Overholt added six tackles to go with several key runs on offense, while Camden Montgomery broke up a pass to end Brevard’s final drive.
