Lee to play college soccer at Southeastern Louisiana

Polk County senior Caroline Lee has signed a letter-of-intent to play soccer next season at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Lee, a midfielder/forward, earned all-Western Highlands Conference honors last season in helping lead Polk County to the WHC regular-season title and third round of the state 2A playoffs.

She appeared in the 2014 and 2015 North Carolina State Games and also competes with the Highlands Football Club.

“Caroline possess a strong athletic frame with speed that enables her to attack quickly and close down players fast defensively,” said Southeastern Louisiana head coach Blake Hornbuckle. “Her high work rate, competitive spirit and measured aggressive nature on the field will raise the level of play on a daily basis.”

The Lions posted a 13-5-4 record last season, winning the Southland Conference postseason tournament on penalty kicks.

Lee becomes the first Polk County senior this school year to sign a letter-of-intent to compete at the college level.
