Charles named co-WHC coach of year, five Wolverines on all-league team

Polk County head soccer coach Lennox Charles has been named the all-Western Highlands Conference co-coach of the year, with five Wolverines selected for the all-conference team.

Charles, who led Polk County to a 15-5 record and the second round of the state 2A playofs, shared coach of the year honors with Hendersonville’s Amber McCullough. The Bearcats won the WHC regular-season title after defeating Polk County in a shootout in the teams’ final match of the season.

Polk County placed three seniors – Jessica Bentley, Caroline Lee and Ashley Love – on the all-WHC team along with junior Rhian Alley and freshman Reese Alley. Lee, Love and Reese Alley led the team in scoring this season while¬†Bentley and Rhian Alley anchored Polk County’s defense.
