
Charles named co-WHC coach of year, five Wolverines on all-league team
Polk County head soccer coach Lennox Charles has been named the all-Western Highlands Conference co-coach of the year, with five Wolverines selected for the all-conference team.
Charles, who led Polk County to a 15-5 record and the second round of the state 2A playofs, shared coach of the year honors with Hendersonville’s Amber McCullough. The Bearcats won the WHC regular-season title after defeating Polk County in a shootout in the teams’ final match of the season.
Polk County placed three seniors – Jessica Bentley, Caroline Lee and Ashley Love – on the all-WHC team along with junior Rhian Alley and freshman Reese Alley. Lee, Love and Reese Alley led the team in scoring this season while Bentley and Rhian Alley anchored Polk County’s defense.
