Staton earns NCBCA All-District selection

Polk County senior guard Bailey Staton has been named to the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association All-District squad.

Staton received first-team selection to from District 12. She was joined on the first team by Pisgah’s Chandler Lowery and Cherokee’s Madison Rogers, Dvdaya Swimmer and Joscelyn Stamper, with Stamper named the district player of the year.

Staton averaged 27.5 points per game this season in leading Polk County to a 20-7 record and the third round of the state 3A playoffs. She has signed with Converse University to continue her playing career.
