Polk County concluded Wednesday its most successful girls basketball regular season in seven years, rolling past Brevard 51-39 in non-conference action in Brevard.
The Wolverines end the 2014-15 campaign with a 16-8 record and a seven-game winning streak. Polk County will begin play in the Western Highlands Conference tournament next week, with pairings and times to be announced Thursday.
Polk County rolled to a 31-13 halftime lead and held Brevard to 15 points in the first three quarters before the Blue Devils exploded late.

Hayley Kropp had 16 points and five rebounds to lead Polk, which also got nine points and five assists from Kara Overholt and seven points and seven rebounds from Autumn Owen.
Polk County has not won 16 games in a season since the 2007-2008 team finished 19-9 and reached the second round of the state 1A playoffs.
