Madison girls hold off pesky Polk, 57-46

Polk County refused to let Madison pull away Tuesday night, but the Patriots still held on for a 57-46 win over the Wolverines in Marshall.

Madison, ranked in the state’s top 10 teams this week, built a 26-22 halftime lead and held off Polk County to improve to 15-2 overall, 6-1 in Western Highlands Conference play. The Wolverines dropped to 9-7, 3-4.

Hayley Kropp had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Polk County, which also got 10 points from Autumn Owen. Sarah Phipps also grabbed eight rebounds.
