Landrum roared to a 21-4 lead at the end of the first quarter en route to a 64-23 victory Tuesday over Polk County in a non-conference girls basketball matchup in Landrum.
The Wolverines (0-2) struggled with turnovers throughout the game, allowing Landrum to race to a 14-2 lead before Karli Wood’s jumper with 2:36 left in the first quarter cut the deficit to 10.
Polk County would get no closer the remainder of the night as the Cardinals built a 38-14 advantage at halftime and were never threatened in the second period.

Unofficially, Autumn Owen led Polk County with eight points, six rebounds and four steals. Ansley Lynch had eight rebounds and seven points and Anna McFadden had two points and five rebounds. Wood had three points, Mariah Overholt had two and Ava Marino added one for Polk.
Sarah Price and Ellen Boatwright teamed to score all 21 first-quarter points for Landrum. Price finished with 20 points to lead the Cardinals.
The Wolverines travel to Brevard on Friday.
