Blue Devils pull away late to slip past Polk girls, 51-43

Brevard pulled away from a 22-22 halftime tie Monday to slip past Polk County 51-43 in a non-conference girls basketball meeting in Brevard.

Brevard improved to 3-1 with the win. It was the season opener for the Wolverines.

Autumn Owen led Polk County with 24 points and nine rebounds. Ansley Lynch added 10 points and four rebounds.

Also scoring for the Wolverines were Mariah Overholt with three points and Kendall Hall, Kylee Mullis and Sara Muse each with two points.

Kristen Hall had four rebounds for Polk County, which will make its home debut on Wednesday against R-S Central.

Polk County earned a 52-12 win in the girls junior varsity game.
