Basketball standouts from Polk County’s past gathered Saturday in the school gym for the 3rd Annual Wolverine Alumni Reunion Game.

Players divided into two squads – Tryon vs. Polk Central – and brought back memories as they once again shot, rebounded and defended on Polk County High School’s court.

Polk Central’s alums rallied from a first-half deficit to earn a 72-65 victory. Earning MVP honors for Tryon’s squad was Alec Philpott, with Autumn Owen hitting several 3-pointers in the game to earn MVP honors for Polk Central.

The real winner? Polk County’s basketball program, with funds raised from Saturday’s fun going to benefit future Wolverines.
