Overholt wins another race, Rickman leads Polk Middle boys

Led by Olivia Overholt and Chris Rickman, Polk County Middle School wrapped up its cross country regular season on Tuesday in a meet at Rugby Middle School.

Overholt easily won the girls race, finishing some 50 meters ahead of her Hendersonville Middle School rival. Also finishing well was Sara Muse, Lacey Gosnell and Jylyn Barnes.

Due to injuries, the Wolverine girls didn’t field enough entrants to place in the team standings.

Rickman led the Polk Middle boys to a fourth-place finish. Finishing strong behind him were Cameron Horne, Carson Shacklock, Shaq Wingo, Andrew Hostetler, Wesley Royster and Jackson Edwards.

The Wolverines conclude their season on Tuesday with the Blue Ridge Middle School Conference meet at Apple Valley Middle School.
