Fowler, Russell lead PCMS cross country squads in final regular season race

Polk County Middle School’s cross country teams wrapped up their regular seasons on Tuesday in competition at Rugby Middle School.

Haley Fowler ran a personal best time of 13:57 to place fourth for the Wolverine girls. Maranda Gosnell ran a 15:46, also a personal best, to finish 25th, while Haven Dufford finished in 16:00, also a personal best, and placed 27th.

The team finished fifth in the six-team event. The remainder of the squad included:

For the PCMS boys, Al Russell finished in sixth place with a time of 12:46. Zach Lambert placed 14th in 14:00, and Josh Poteat ran a personal best time of 14:31 to finish 21st.

The boys team also finished fifth in the six-team event. The remainder of the squad included:

The top seven finishers for both teams will compete in the Blue Ridge Middle School Conference meet on Tuesday at Jackson Park in Hendersonville.
