Noah Hammond and Millie Edwards each posted top-10 finishes Tuesday as Polk County Middle School’s boys and girls cross country teams both placed fourth in a six-team meet at the Polk County Recreation Complex.
Hammond finished third in the boys 3,000-meter race in 11:51.70, helping Polk Middle total 105 points. Rugby Middle won the team title with 28 points, followed by Hendersonville Middle with 62 and Apple Valley Middle with 66.
Rugby’s Jacob Baden won the individual race in 11:22.10.

Eric Ramirez was Polk’s second finisher, placing 22nd in 13:22.50, with Kelton Kitchen 23rd in 13:25.10. Korbyn Holland finished 43rd in 15:51.50 and Ellis Searcy was 45th in 15:54.10 to complete Polk’s scoring five.
Kaiden Kitchen finished 57th in 17:42, Ross Castillo was 64th in 18:20.80, Carter Ross placed 69th in 19:19 and Joe Delmas was 70th in 19:19.20.
The Polk girls also finished fourth, scoring 111 points. Hendersonville Middle won with 34 points, followed by Rugby with 53 and Apple Valley with 82.
Edwards led the Wolverines with an eighth-place finish in 14:19.30. Rylie Klimstra took 21st in 15:40.50, Carolina Foster was 27th in 15:51.10, Haley Contreras placed 35th in 16:11.80 and Heidi Klootwyk finished 36th in 16:13.40.
Nora Williams was 38th in 16:23.50 and Lucy Delmas finished 40th in 16:40.20. Amelia LeCompte placed 58th in 18:25.60, Maggie Holbert was 77th in 20:58 and Olivia Brooks finished 83rd in 25:02.30.
Hendersonville’s Parker DeLizza won the girls race in 13:43.60.
