Huskey a second-team selection for All-WNC cross country squad

Polk County senior Karsyn Huskey has earned All-Western North Carolina Girls Cross Country Second Team honors from the Citizen-Times in Asheville.

In just her second season of cross country competition, Huskey placed sixth in the state 1A championships, earning all-state honors. Her finish was the best for a Polk County runner at the state meet since 2005.

Swain’s Arizona Blankenship, who earned her second state 1A title after missing the past two seasons due to injury, was named the All-WNC Girls Runner of the Year.
