Wolverines ride strong singles showing to win over R-S Central

A dominating performance in singles play Monday carried Polk County to a 6-3 victory over R-S Central in a non-conference boys tennis match at Polk.

The Wolverines won five of the day’s six singles matches, including a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-2, 10-4 win by Rustin Muse at No. 4 singles.

Henry Monts, Payton Sott, Malik Miller and Seth Hardin all recorded straight-set wins. Monts and Stott also teamed for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles for the Wolverines’ final victory of the day.

Polk County remains at home on Tuesday, hosting Hendersonville in the final Western Highlands Conference match between the two progams before the Bearcats leave the WHC after this season.
