Harris Windsor and Charlie Wagoner reached the semifinals in doubles play before falling Saturday at the 3A West Regional Tennis Tournament at Gardner-Webb University.
Windsor and Wagoner defeated Jack Jin and Jake Tweed of Lincolnton 6-1, 6-2 in the first round Friday. They topped Riley Allen and Nolan Jennings of Madison 6-0, 6-1 in the second round before falling to Adrian Melecio and Kevin Fernandez of Mountain Heritage 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1 in Saturday’s semifinals.
Owen’s Luke Florence and Silas Kraak won the regional doubles title, defeating Melecio and Fernandez 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Both teams advance to the state tournament.

In singles play, Polk’s Ethan Jenne defeated Caleb Newton of East Rutherford 6-2, 6-2 in the first round Friday before falling to Izaiah Campos of Hendersonville 6-0, 6-0 in the second round.
Hendersonville’s Andy Trnka won the regional singles title, defeating Campos by walkover in the finals after beating David Sink of Mountain Heritage 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals. Both Trnka and Campos advance to the state tournament.
Polk’s Jacob Jenne and Morgan Allen fell in the first round of doubles, losing to Ethan Jones and Alex Chacon of Hendersonville 6-1, 6-1, while Wolverine Isaac Hodges lost in the first round of singles to Ethan Beall of Patton 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
