Undefeated T.C. Roberson handed Polk County a 7-2 setback on Monday in a non-conference boys tennis match in Skyland.

Polk County’s Malik Miller earned a win at No. 6 singles and teamed with Rustin Muse for a win at No. 3 doubles for the Wolverines.

“The kids did compete very well even though the scores would not indicate that,” said Polk County head coach Richard Davis. “All games were close and we played some great points, but just didn’t win the points that counted the most.

“All said and done I am happy that we faced a great and skilled team in TC that pushed us to compete at our best level as we are now headed into three straight away conference matches this week.”

Polk County starts those three away matches on Tuesday, traveling to Hendersonville.
