Polk remains tied for conference lead with win at Owen

Only two team remain undefeated in Western Highlands Conference boys tennis play this season, and Polk County is one of them.

The Wolverines handed Owen a 5-3 defeat in Swannanoa on Thursday, staying tied with Mountain Heritage atop the WHC standings. Mountain Heritage handed Avery a 6-3 loss on Thursday to improve to 3-0 in conference play, the same record as Polk.

Polk County (5-3, 3-0) won four of the six singles matches, then earned the deciding point in doubles in winning its fourth straight match.

The Wolverines are off until April 4, when Polk will travel to T.C. Roberson for a non-conference match.
