Polk County won Monday its first boys tennis match since the 2013 season, defeating North Henderson 6-3 in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines improved to 1-2 with the win.

Polk County earned victories in four of the six singles matches, keyed by No. 1 player Tyler Oxtoby, who downed Simon Sim 10-1. Oxtoby also teamed with Henry Monts for a win at No. 1 doubles. Oxtoby, Monts and Malik Miller each were part of two match wins.

Polk County returns to action on Monday, hosting T.C. Roberson at 4 p.m.
