Polk County’s JV boys soccer team twice grabbed the lead Wednesday, but A.C. Reynolds answered both times as the teams battled to a 2-2 nonconference draw at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
Polk struck first in the 25th minute. Wells Highsmith launched a long throw toward the Reynolds goal, where Alec Fine and a Reynolds defender raced toward the ball. The defender nudged it back toward the goalkeeper, the players converged and the ball eventually rolled into the net to give the Wolverines a 1-0 advantage.
Reynolds (7-1-3) pulled even in the 37th minute, early in the second half.

Polk regained the lead in the 53rd minute on an impressive strike from Foster Meyer. Taking a long free kick from the right side, Meyer drove the ball over the goalkeeper and into the upper left portion of the net for a 2-1 advantage.
Again, Reynolds responded, finding the equalizer in the 64th minute.
Polk County moved to 5-3-2 on the season. The Wolverines return to Western Highlands Conference play Wednesday, Sept. 30, at home against Hendersonville.
