Polk County will host Elkin in the first round of the state 1A boys soccer playoffs.
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced pairings Saturday for the upcoming playoffs. The first round is set to begin Tuesday.
Polk County received the number two seed in the random drawing and will host the 15th-seeded Elks who finished second in the Mountain Valley 2A/1A Conference.

Elkin had a 9-2-1 record this season.
The winner of that match will face either Swain or Thomas Jefferson in the second round, which is set for Thursday.
