Burns checked Polk County on a single point in the first quarter Wednesday en route to a 68-35 victory in boys junior varsity basketball action in Lawndale.

The Bulldogs (4-4) opened a 12-1 lead at the end of the opening quarter, then steadily built the margin throughout the rest of the evening.

Khristian Littlejohn led Polk County (0-6) with 19 points. Jonathan Collier added seven, with Curtis Simmons scoring five.

David Duffy and Chase Stansbury each added two points for Polk County, which will next be in action on January 5, hosting Hendersonville.
